    Ocean Enthusiast Dominic May and his team operate coastal sightseeing, whale watching (Jun - Nov), cruise and event tours departing daily from the Honeysuckle Foreshore showcasing the breathtaking coastline of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie from a brand new custom built vessel. 

    Tours focus on the marine life which inhabit the coastline, local geology, Aboriginal heritage as well as unique destination landmarks including wrecks, cliffs, islands, sea caves and ships.


  • The Lock-Up Gallery

    Located in one of Newcastle’s most significant heritage buildings, The Lock-Up is a multidisciplinary contemporary arts space and inner city hub for creative thinking and doing.

    The Lock-Up was the Newcastle Police Station and lock up from 1861 until its closure in 1982. Since opening as a cultural centre in 2007, the building includes a purpose built gallery space, rare heritage listed cells and an event and installation space in what was the former exercise yard

    Newcastle Ocean Baths have a long history as popular swimming spots. Newcastle Ocean Baths was opened in 1922. The baths are open all year round, subject to maintenance and cleaning.

    Nobbys Breakwall is located along a 20 minute walking trail from NOAH'S to Nobbys Lighthouse. the Breakwall extends past the Lighthouse and provides spectacular views back onto the city and beaches. You can watch the ships come and go from the harbour and grab a coffee or cold drink from the kiosk on Sundays at the Lighthouse.

  • Newcastle Art Gallery

    The Newcastle Art Gallery hosts a large number of perminent exhibs along with additional traveling exhibitions. Open Tuesday to Sunday 10am - 5pm and every day during the school holidays. Admission is free, some special evednts and exhibits may incur a charge.

  • Fort Scratchley

    1-3 Nobbys Rd, Newcastle East NSW 2300, Australia .

    Fort Scratchley, was formerly a coastal defence installation, now an interactive museum. Located in Newcastle East, a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales in Australia (map below). Built in 1882 to defend the city against a possible Russian attack. However, its guns were not fired in anger until 8 June 1942, during the shelling of Newcastle by a Japanese submarine.

    The Fort is open 6 days a week, (closed Tuesday) from 10am to 4pm  Self guided tours (excluding tunnels) of the Fort is free.

    There’s always lots to do and see at Hunter Wetlands Centre and it changes with the seasons.

    Take a walk or ride your bike around the site; book a tour or go canoeing. Bring your camera and photograph some of our amazing wildlife. Kids can have fun at the Discovery Playground, try dipnetting and meet some of our birds and reptiles. There are also special events like School Holiday programs, Easter Fun Day and art exhibitions.

    Blackbutt Reserve is a 182 hectare nature reserve in Newcastle, offering scenic trails, native wildlife exhibits, playgrounds and recreation facilities.

    Wildlife Exhibits open 10am to 5pm every day (closed Christmas Day, Good Friday and before 1pm ANZAC Day).
    Picnic and recreation facilities open from 7am until 7pm.
    Entry is FREE. Car parks located at Carnley Ave and Richley Reserve attract a fee.
