Safety
Your safety is important to us. Privacy locks are on all accommodation room doors for added room security however they will override your room key so ensure they are not on when you are out of the room. The door does automatically lock when closed.
Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the safety evacuation plan located on the back of your room door. Each accommodation room is equipped with smoke detector alarms which are audible within the room, should there be a fire or excessive smoke. In case of an emergency, the assembly area is in the vacant lot next to the hotel. The following steps are recommended for your safety in case of an emergency.
- Always know where your swipe key is kept
- Memorise exit routes including doors that may be between you and an exit in case of heavy smoke which may interfere with your vision
- If you smell smoke call reception on extension 9 and evacuate
- Feel the doorknob, if it is hot - do not open the door. If is not - look carefully outside and if there is not too much smoke, go to the fire exit and descend to the ground level
- Always take your key with you. You may need to get back into your room where it could be safer
- When leaving the building, walk - do not run and close all the doors behind you. If the area around your room has too much smoke, go back to your room
If you are forced to stay in your room:
- Stuff wet towels and sheets around the door and turn off air conditioning ventilation
- If the doors and walls are hot, bail water on them with your rubbish bin. Keep everything wet. Place a wet cloth over your face and mouth
If the Hotel’s fire alarm system is activated as a direct result of occupant PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES SUCH AS COOKING, SMOKING, VAPING in the room, the Hotel will bill your guest account the false alarm fee charged by Fire & Rescue NSW (FRNSW). The alarm can also be activated if the bathroom door is left open and the room fills with steam. The current FRNSW false alarm fee is $1776.00.
Balcony safety - Children must not be left unsupervised on the balcony. You must never climb over a balustrade or climb from one balcony to another or sit on top of the balustrade. For safety purposes, personal items must not be left outside on balconies; this includes but is not limited to, surfboards, eskies, towels, and clothing items. Room furniture must not be removed from rooms or taken out on to balconies. Please ensure balcony doors are locked when you leave your room for additional security. Storms can arise at any time and cause damage if doors have been left open. Insects will enter rooms if the door has been left open.
If you suffer any injury or accident during your stay, please report it to reception so we can provide assistance.
